It is time to change the approach in our school interventions.

Our children are years behind technologically and soon the gap will seem too wide to breach.

ESG and Sustainability:

Informal recyclers do more than 80% of South Africa’s recycling.

We need to give them the respect and support they deserve

Thabo's Story:

16 Year old Thabo came to us terrified that his Crystal meth habit had affected his mental health to the point of no return. He was referred to us by SANCA. We assisted him with the process of getting the right medications to get him stable enough for inpatient rehabilitation treatment at Golden Harvest Treatment Centre and he also came to eat at our kitchen daily, whilst also attending circle dialogues. Thabo is back at home and we are working towards getting him ready to go back to school.

Thando's Story:

After battling Nyaope addictions for years and years.

Darling Thando has become a favourite amongst all our volunteers. He has dedicated his life to giving back and making sure other young boys don't make the same choices he did, no matter how hard life gets.

Things only dreams are made of!!!This time last year we were so excited to be designing and testing our EcoRover Trolley, and to be working with our first group of newly recruited VS recyclers. And now, after months of planning, through an absolutely ingenious idea thought of by a phenomenal, amazing, AMAZING lady, Christy Anna, from A Blessing in Disguise NGO, we are elevating our more vulnerable recyclers from hard laborious trolley pulling, to driving and collecting waste material using TukTuk vans!!A Blessing in Disguise donated us the first van just last week and it will be the first van of three, which will be part of the Riziki project our 10 women recyclers will be a part of!All this would never have happened if it wasn't for Glynne and Hayley from The Angel Network SA, and of course the Barloworld Empowerment Foundation who decided to believe in us and our vision.#Ola Skhokho ...
